Moved by television shows of lawyers she saw as a child, Ryoko Ishida dreamt of nothing more than becoming one herself. Though she studied hard she was never able to realize her dream. Resigned to her fate, Ryoko later went on to work for a bank where she was put in charge of going after defaulted loans, the most detested job of them all at the bank. Told not to come back to the bank until she'd collected from at least one of the many deadbeat borrowers she was assigned to pursue, Ryoko reaches Kazuaki Yudo, a heavily indebted lawyer and the last person on her list. Operating out of a dilapidated home office, lawyer Kazuaki's work when he gets any mostly involves him serving as a court-appointed attorney to defendants unable to afford legal counsel. In other words, Kazuaki makes no money. But that is not why he's a lawyer. Like his newfound partner Ryoko, whom he soon teams up with (remember, he still owes the bank money, so she tags along with him no matter where he goes), they both share an intimate desire to protect the weak and defend the innocent he is the people's Last Lawyer!

i kinda liked it but not a must see type of drama.

Even Abe Hiroshi couldn't save this one. Boooooring. Promising storyline is wasted by nonexistant character development in favor of lackluster crime tales. I think there was only one of the stories really surprised me. It's too bad--I've seen most of these actors in other dramas, and they're good actors. With a better script, this drama might have been good. Instead....eh. Don't bother.

This really reminds me so much of HERO! But still a great dorama! Abe and Tsuba were both really good in it!!!

complete. VCD chn-mly sub.

I always like to watch Abe Hiroshi in action.
and this time he's a lawyer.
I like this drama at the fact that i like investigation type of series, and solving a case to fight in a court also include investigation. just say that i'm a sucker for investigation series.

Abe Hiroishi always have some hidden secrets behind his crappy appearance. I always like the way he deduces stuff from small details. Brainy like Nakama Yukie~!

Saigo no Bengoshi isn't a particularly refreshing legal drama but Abe Hiroshi's portrayal of the scruffy, acerbic, tenacious and perceptive public defence attorney, Udo, somehow makes the show a delight to watch even though most of the cases are simple and one knows early on, where the drama will lead to.
