"666" cd is very rock focused and it suits HYDE's voice very well! HYDE is a very strong excellent vocalist. I think the cover art looks so cool! I always look forward to hearing more from HYDE! Thank you very much!

....and now... 2007/12/13

...for something completely different. After the soft ballad album Roentgen, Hyde apparently thought it was time to rock, hence this album's title is a play on words. (666 = Rock Rock Rock)
Anyway...this could qualify as rock, and some parts could even qualify as (heavy) metal. It's filled with up-tempo pounding songs, which is pretty nice and probably should do well in a live setting. There are a few more emotional songs on this album, though, so no fear. I like the album cover also, nice and dark.

Quite a Departure! 2007/05/04

666 bears little resemblance to Roentgen, hyde's first solo album, barring the obvious enamor with English. It's a much more rock album with fewer ballads or moody, introspective pieces; it's more of a get-up-and-move album than a lie-there-and-mope album.
That being said, I'm not particularly fond of this album. It's head and shoulders above Roentgen as far as a rock album goes, but the quality of the music itself doesn't seem to equal L'arc~en~ciel's. He's competent as a solo artist, but it still feels like something's lacking.
It's great for L'arc~en~ciel fans, but I'd recommend a try-before-you-buy for everyone else.

Amazing dark-rock album from HYDE. Even if you're not a fan of his music (either solo, or in L'arc~en~Ciel), you're guaranteed to love this album if you love rock music overall. Songs like HELLO and Horizon that captured your attention through and through pale in comparison to songs like the Marilyn Manson-esque MIDNIGHT CELEBRATION and guitar-heavy Fruits of Chaos. Outclasses Roentgen in every aspect.

It's not Laruku, but it's still good 2006/04/20

HYDE's English has gotten better since his last release and so has his music. His voice still sounds great, but somehow different from his albums with L'Arc~en~ciel.

HYDE's second solo album.
Really great but it isn't like his first album Roentgen at all.
