After starring together in the 2008 TVB idol drama Dressage To Win, pop idol Ken Hung (Love is Elsewhere) and newcomer Michelle Wai (Trick or Cheat) transport their romance to the big screen for the pure love feature Happily Ever After. Directed by Y.Y. Kong and Azrael Chung, the idol romance lives up to its genre with young photogenic stars, cute love stories, and tearjerking pathos, while adding a curious twist to the melodrama. Happily Ever After also co-stars Carlos Chan Ka Lok (Connected) from Dressage To Win, and popular character actor Hui Siu Hung as Michelle Wai's father. College student Nam (Michelle Wai) juggles school and a part-time gig as a photographer's assistant for her longtime friend Chun Man (Carlos Chan), who holds an obvious torch for her. With high school reunion coming up, Nam recalls her abbreviated puppy love with classmate To Chi (Ken Hung), her almost boyfriend who left suddenly for Canada. Their bickering relationship ended over a misunderstanding back in high school, but the two reconnect immediately when they meet again. Nam is as happy as could be with To Chi. But one day Chun Man tells her that To Chi is actually comatose in Canada, and that no one else can see To Chi. Nan Au-Yeung and Sze Tso-chi share the same birthday, go to the same school, love photography, and are just as competitive. But they did not know of each other?s existence until they ?crossed swords? at a debate tournament. And they both felt as if the fairytale prince and princess finally found each other.
