A Japanese take on Notting Hill (1999). Sosuke Nakata (Kusanagi Tsuyoshi), is just your everyday salaried worker. There is really nothing special that stands out about Nakata. He is a serious guy, whose life mostly consists of going back and forth to the office each day.

Suddenly one day though, Nakata just happens to meet a certain woman by coincidence-top star, Hikaruko Kirishima (Fujiwara Norika). Just by talking to her, Nakata is left standing feeling like he has just seen a dream.

Several days later, Kirishima calls an emergency press conference.

And there she announces..."I am now dating a gentleman by the name of Sosuke Nakata, a salaried worker, whom I intend to marry."

An announcement about their "relationship," out of the blue! More than that, this top star's boyfriend is just your typical salaried worker!! What does Kirishima have up her sleeve as she hides behind her intrepid smile?!

Nakata obviously has no idea about what happened at the press conference. He also doesn't know what lies ahead for him at work, and about Hikaruko's true intentions.

This story, a somewhat funny, but romantic love story, follows the footsteps of a man and woman from very different worlds, as they experience the painful and sometimes remarkable ups and downs of love.

4.  Loved this Drama!! [Rating: 10/10]
I loved this drama, I don't comepletely understand Japanese, but this drama is easy to follow without being boring. All who enjoy romantic comedies will love this one. I have to say, that the summary given above isn't all that accurate, it's more of an surprise meeting rather than a coincidence. I only have a couple of dramas in my collection (One's that I can watch over and over again) and I think I can add this drama to that collection. I sooo reccomend this to any and all who enjoy a good love story, a very satisfying drama. The supporting cast is very funny if not crazy. I could go on and on, but I'll stop here, please see it for yourself, you won't be sorry, that is, if you're a romantic comedy fan.

7.  Oh My DoramaGod[ess], this was nice! [Rating: 9/10]
I can't help but extremely enjoy the story of this dorama. Very exaggerated at times, but that only adds to the effect. This dorama made me think happy, especially after watching the sad ending of which was handokku, also a great, and exaggerated dorama. This dorama works well as a nice booster-upper for your mood.

8.  The best ever dorama [Rating: 10/10]
This is my all time favorite Drama. I have watched it three times, and it's made me happy each time. Tsuyoshi Kusanagi is really great in this dorama. I really liked his charactor and the unusual people he worked with. His preformance is 'straight on." Also, like the way that when the story got sad, the billboard with the star had a wallscrawl that said "agony" on it. Which mirrored what the male charactor was going through. The Dorama plays like an Rock Hudson/Doris Day romantic comedy. It even has that 'type' of incidental music. It even has a happy ending! A bonus to this is the guest in the last episode, Shingo Katori. He plays a reporter in the future who is going to write a book over the star's story. This Dorama has it all. My highest recomendations!

9.  I have been 'Struck' for the better [Rating: 9/10]
When I saw the reviews of this being a light romantic comedy I thought it would translate into tedious boring comedy for me. But I was greatly surprised by the whole flow, plot and performances of the cast. They were people in the cast from HERO, and this plot has that same kind quirky direction to it, but I liked this a lot more than HERO

10.  Above Average [Rating: 8/10]
Kusanagki Tsuyoshi and Fujiwara Norika were surprisingly good in this show. Norika Fujiwara was the best actress of the year, voted by viewer. And also the Best dressed. They spent some money on her outfits. In general, I like the chemistry.
