Popular Hong Kong comic book A Man Called Hero has been adapted into a splendid TV epic! Based on the same comic book that spawned Andrew Lau's blockbuster film starring Ekin Cheng, 2005 drama The Legend of Hero draws together the best crew a TV series could have. The titular hero is played by Peter Ho, who also starred in the popular television adaptation of another Ma Wing Shing comic book, Wind and Fire. The drama's extended cast includes Taiwan stars Blue Lan and Ady An from The Outsiders, Hong Kong actor Alex Fong Chung Sun, and Mainland stars Zheng Guolin (Family) and Qin Lan. Character images are designed by William Chang (2046) and the action choreography is done by none other than Ching Siu Tung, the action director of Hero and Shaolin Soccer.
Born into a blacksmith's family, Wah Ying Hung (Peter Ho) developed a strong interest in martial arts during his teens. He devotes himself to upholding righteousness, but that causes his own family to fall apart as his wife is killed and his son lost. Fifteen years later, Ying Hung crosses paths with his son again in early 19th-century America, but he could never have imagined that he would become his son's target of assassination! |
